Rethinking the Iterative Development Innovation Process

In his article “Why Edison Was Wrong,” Stephen Shapiro argues that the value of iterative development may be overrated since R&D departments cannot afford to fail multiple times. Further, he states that when companies engage in open innovation, they only pay for the solutions that do work.
